Alpaca High Tea in Zeeland
Year-round | Ages 10+ | Duration: 1.5 hours
Take a seat and let yourself be surrounded by Zeeland’s softest islanders! During our Alpaca High Tea, you’ll have plenty of opportunity to meet our animals up close. While you enjoy a cup of tea, the alpacas wander peacefully between the tables, curiously sniffing around.
Our female herd adores the attention, and the alpacas from our Rescue Center learn in this friendly environment that people are wonderful. You are welcome to gently stroke their necks or backs, feed them treats, and of course take photos together! Meanwhile, we will host an educational introduction to tell you all about them. By the end, you’ll know everything about their lifestyle and unique traits, as well as the special stories of our rescued alpacas.
Our high tea includes unlimited coffee and tea alongside a delicious mix of savory and sweet treats, including warm quiches, mini sausage rolls, cheese pastries, mini pizzas, cream puffs, petit fours, brownies, and authentic Zeeland bolussen (cinnamon pastries).
Important information: Unfortunately, we cannot make adjustments to the menu for allergies, intolerances, or specific (vegetarian/vegan) diets.

Support the Rescue Center
Is the Alpaca Rescue Center open on the day of your high tea? Be sure to pay it a visit! Extend your day with our alpaca experience path (±60 min). You’ll learn all about these special animals while directly contributing to our cause.
Check our current opening hours in advance to complete your planning.
Important to know
- ⏱️ Arrive on time: We start strictly on time. Please ensure you arrive 10 minutes before the start of your activity. If you are late, you unfortunately won’t be able to join, but the payment obligation remains valid.
- 👥 Registration: Anyone who would like to come along must be registered in advance as a participant.
- 🐶 Dogs: As much as we love animals, dogs are unfortunately not allowed during this activity.
- 🍽️ Dietary requirements: Because our catering is sourced externally, we are unfortunately unable to accommodate allergies, intolerances, or special dietary preferences (such as vegetarian or vegan diets).
Alpacas are incredibly gentle, but they remain prey animals that require a calm environment. To maintain peace and ensure everyone’s safety, we enforce a strict age policy.
- Minimum age (Ages 10+): Our High Tea is strictly accessible to children aged 10 and above. Children aged 10 to 14 are very welcome when accompanied by a paying adult, provided they are able to remain calmly seated throughout the high tea.
- Why no younger children? Alpacas can easily be startled by sudden movements. Additionally, there is no space in the area to walk around or crawl. If an alpaca is accidentally touched near its hind legs, it may kick. While harmless to an adult, this can be dangerous for a small child. Children under 10 years old will therefore unfortunately be turned away.
- No babies: Although it sounds idyllic, a crying or restless baby causes stress for the alpacas and disrupts the atmosphere for other guests. Babies can therefore unfortunately not attend.
- Minimum number of participants: The Alpaca High Tea takes place with a minimum of 4 participants (these can be across different parties).
- If the activity is cancelled: In the event that there are not enough participants, we will inform you by 8:00 PM the evening before via email or phone. (Please note: when we call, we use an anonymous number).

“Well worth the money”
All staff members are deeply committed to the alpacas. We enjoyed a high tea and the presence of the alpaca ladies. The high tea was well organized with plenty of delicious bites. Anything leftover could be brought home. This afternoon was well worth the money. We will definitely be back.

“A real recommendation”
We had a high tea at Alpacas Zeelandia. A super fun experience and highly recommended. Owner Mara warmly welcomed us in the tea garden. Afterwards, together with the other guests, we collected several alpacas from the pasture. We were even allowed to lead the animals to the tea garden ourselves. During the high tea, we were surrounded by sweet alpacas—such wonderful animals! Mara also shared lots of interesting facts, making it educational too. You can choose between a sweet high tea or a sweet and savory one. We chose sweet and savory. You get plenty of delicious fresh bites with tea and/or coffee, plus a mug of hot chocolate with whipped cream. Anything you can’t finish can be taken home. You also get a small tub of treats to feed to the alpacas yourself. After the high tea, there is time for a photo moment with the alpacas as a memory of this lovely activity, and then we walk the alpacas back to the barn together. Beyond being fun to participate in, it’s wonderful knowing you are helping the alpacas, as all proceeds go towards the care of the 65 rescue alpacas.

“Perfectly organized”
What a fun experience! The people at Alpaca Zeelandia are very friendly and know a lot about the animals. The alpacas enjoy interacting with people and you can really tell—they are curious and comfortable. The quality of the high tea was great, with a delicious variety of sweet and savory items and even the option to take leftovers home. In short, perfect and wonderfully organized.

“True heart for the animals”
Had a lovely afternoon tea with the alpacas! These wonderful people truly have a heart for the alpacas. We are coming back within a week to do an alpaca walk! Definitely recommended!

“Really great day out” Had a really great day. We ordered an alpaca high tea with a group of 4. Lots of treats and we got to feed the alpacas. The owner knows so much about alpacas and shared a background story for every single one. Tip: wear clothing that can get dirty—an alpaca might sneeze on you! 🤧
