Discover the stories of the rescue alpacas
February 19th – October 25th | Ages 10+ | Duration: 1 hour
Would you like an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at our rescue center? During the Alpaca Rescue Tour, one of our experienced alpaca keepers takes you to places usually hidden from other visitors. You’ll step right into the pasture to meet the alpacas up close.
Our guide will share the touching, unique, and sometimes astonishing stories of the animals we have welcomed. You’ll learn how we work every single day to make these wonderful creatures healthy, happy, and well-socialized again.
Up close and personal
What can you expect from the tour?
- Exclusive access: Step directly into the pastures alongside the keeper to meet the different herds.
- Learn alpaca language: You’ll receive clear guidance on the best way to approach the alpacas and how to interpret their body language and behavior.
- Ask away: Our knowledgeable guide loves sharing all the ins and outs of daily care, feeding, and medical treatments.
- Picture-perfect moments: Of course, we’re more than happy to help you snap some wonderful photos surrounded by the alpacas.
Experience and give back: By joining this tour, you directly support our non-profit mission! All ticket proceeds go straight towards food, daily care, and medical treatment for alpacas in need. This means your wonderful outing makes a real difference.
Important to know
Please make sure you arrive well-prepared for the tour. This helps keep the experience enjoyable and safe for both our visitors and the alpacas.
- ⏱️ Arrive on time: We start promptly. Please ensure you arrive 10 minutes before the start time. If you are late, the tour unfortunately cannot wait, and you will not be able to join. The payment obligation remains valid.
- 👥 Participants & Age limit: Everyone entering the pasture must be registered as a participant. The minimum age for this tour is 10 years old. Children aged 10 to 14 may only participate under the supervision of a paying adult.
- 🐶 Dogs: Dogs are unfortunately not allowed on our grounds or in the pastures during this activity.
- 🚭 Smoking: Our entire site is strictly non-smoking.
Because we enter the pastures directly with the animals and are located close to the Zeeland coast, wearing the right clothing is essential.
- 💨 Bring layers: Near the sea, it is often a bit cooler and windier than inland. Therefore, always bring a thick sweater or a good jacket.
- 🦙 Calm clothing: Wear comfortable clothes that can take a beating. Please note: Avoid flapping jackets, loose scarves, or ponchos, as these can startle the alpacas.
What happens in case of bad weather or insufficient registrations?
- 👥 Minimum number of participants: The Rescue Tour takes place with a minimum of 4 participants (these do not have to be from the same booking group).
- 🌧️ Bad weather? We move indoors: Is rain, strong wind, or stormy weather predicted? No worries! Whenever possible, we will move the tour inside our cozy barn. If this is really not possible, the tour will unfortunately be cancelled.
- 📧 How we inform you: If the tour cannot take place, we will try to inform you by 8:00 PM the evening before via email. Please make sure to check your inbox (and spam folder) carefully before your visit!
